WAZA recognition for vulture conservation breeding centres

The World Association of Zoos and Aquarians (WAZA) has formerly recognised the vulture conservation breeding programme in India and Nepal and has posted information on the vulture project on their official website. This recognition will help bring wider benefits to the Vulture Rescue programme in Asia, as well as creating more interest in vulture conservation.

WAZA is the "umbrella" organisation for the world zoo and aquarium community. Its members include leading zoos and aquariums, and regional and national Associations of Zoos and Aquariums, as well as some affiliate organisations, such as zoo veterinarians or zoo educators, from all around the world. WAZA's mission is to guide, encourage and support the zoos, aquariums, and like-minded organisations of the world in animal care and welfare, environmental education and global conservation.
